Celebrating Sr. Patricia Anne Turner, osu

Turner, Sister Patricia Anne (Patricia Marguerite) entered Eternal Life on February 29th, 2024 in Chatham, Ontario.  

She was born in Windsor in 1926, the daughter of the late Germaine (Gendron) and Francis Turner.  She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1943.  During her religious life she served as teacher and principal in Chatham, Windsor, Tecumseh, Mount Carmel, and St. Augustin, Quebec. Upon retiring from teaching, Sr. Patricia Anne served in the Local Leadership at The Pines. She was also active in Social Justice, especially as it pertains to Native Canadians and childhood poverty.  From 2004 to 2006 she studied part-time to become a certified spiritual director.  These courses were most helpful in her work with both groups and individuals.  Besides being a spiritual leader with COR and Cursillo, Sister was a spiritual director to many individuals. Many people will remember Sr. Patricia Anne for her colourful designs and generous gifts of knitting.

She is survived by her brother Thomas Turner (Marilyn) and sisters-in-law Diane Turner (Jim) and Joanne Turner (Frank).  She is predeceased by her parents, and siblings Bert, Jim, Sr. Mary Turner OSU, Sr. Cecile Turner, OLM and Frank.  Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Monday, March 4th, 2024 at 2 pm, in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge, 20 Merici Way in Chatham, Ontario. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 5th at 9:30 am in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge, Chatham. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Sister Patricia Anne may be made to “Chatham Ursuline Charities”, 20 Merici Way, Chatham, ON N7L 3L8 or to the charity of your choice.
