Celebrating Sr Mary Ann Melenchuk, osu
MELENCHUK, Sister Mary Ann, formerly Sister Mary Boniface, entered Eternal Life on March 26, 2024 in Chatham, Ontario.

She was born in Kronsberg, Saskatchewan in 1921, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Vallee) Melenchuck. She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1949.  During her religious life she served as a teacher in Chatham, Windsor and Wallaceburg, Ontario, Edmonton, Alberta and Regina, Elsas, and Grayson, Saskatchewan. She was also a pastoral worker in Lestock, Southey, Ituna and Canora, Saskatchewan and also visited hospitals and nursing homes.  In 1997, she came to Chatham and continued visiting nursing homes. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and relatives in Saskatchewan.  She is predeceased by her parents, her sisters Irene Miller and Jean Schulhauser and brother Edward.  Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 2 pm, in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge, 20 Merici Way, Chatham. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 10 am in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge, Chatham.  Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Sister Mary Ann may be made to “Chatham Ursuline Charities”, 20 Merici Way, Chatham, Ontario N7L 3L8 or to the charity of your choice.
