Celebrating Sr. Jean Doyle, osu
DOYLE, SR. JEAN (Marilyn Jean), formerly Sr. Mary Vianney, entered eternal life on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, she entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1954. During her religious life she served as a teacher in Chatham, Tilbury, Tecumseh, Toronto, Stratford and Bradford. Sr. Jean was Pastoral worker at St. Augustine in Quebec from 1982 to 1988, after her retirement, she also did volunteer work in the Bradford parish, bringing Eucharist and visiting shut-ins, nursing homes, hospitals, and working with senior groups.

She was born in 1936 in Chatham, Ontario, the daughter of the late William Joseph and Jean Marie (Bagnall) Doyle. She is survived by her nieces Anita Snobelen and Colleen Lantin of Chatham, nephews Peter Mallette, Stephen Martin and Chris Martin, brother-in-law, James Martin and many friends. She is predeceased by her parents and her sisters, Mary Mallette and Annette Martin. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Thursday, September 12th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge, 20 Merici Way, Chatham. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, September 13th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge. Interment of ashes will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Sister Jean may be made to the charity of your choice or c/o the Ursuline Sisters through: Canada Helps Ursuline Religious
