KENNY, SR. MARY-ELLEN, formerly Sr. Angela Marie, entered eternal life on June 14, 2024 in Chatham, Ontario. She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1954. During her religious life she served as a teacher and Principal in Chatham, Stratford, Windsor, Toronto and Strathroy for over 30 years. She was a pastoral minister at St. George’s Church in London from 1991-2006. While she was at St. George’s Parish Sr. Mary-Ellen served as the local leader at Brescia. She moved to Chatham in 2006 and served on the Local Leadership Team at Villa Angela from 2006-2014.
She was born in Chatham in 1935 the daughter of Della (Walker) and Ray Kenny. She is survived by sister, Anne Van Den Bossche (Julius) of Corunna and a brother Stephen (Francoise) of Regina, SK. She is predeceased by her brother John and sister Marion Kenny. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 2 pm in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge, 20 Merici Way, Chatham. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 10 am in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
