Celebrating Sr. Mary Frances, osu

DORSCHELL, SR. MARY FRANCES (Mary Frances Catherine), formerly Sr. Beatrice Marie, entered eternal life
on May 22, 2023 at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge in Chatham. She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1956. During her religious life she served as a teacher in Chatham at “The Pines”, UCC, 1 year in the Business College and Elementary School. She was Dean of Students at Brescia University College, London from 1982-1986, Associate Professor of French, and full time faculty member. In 1992 after completing her Masters and PhD, she was appointed Chair of the Department of Modern Languages at Brescia until 2008 and was the Coordinator of Modern Languages at Brescia from 2008 to 2015 when she retired.
She was then appointed as special advisory to the principal for a one-year term. She moved to Villa Angela, Chatham in 2018.
She was born in Cobalt, Ontario on October 9, 1938, the daughter of the late Francis John and Ann Beatrice (Lynch) Dorschell. She was an only child and is survived by several cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge, 20 Merici Way, Chatham. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
